Digital nomadism
The law defines "digital nomad" someone who works remotely from Italy whilst being employed by a foreign company. The legislation is recent and the major complications are:
- tax: it is not always easy to identify the applicable tax law and, in general, to predict in advance the possibility of incurring in more or less taxation with the performed work
- residence permit: as a complete legal definition of the digital nomad has not been developed yet, it does not fall under a specific type of visa permit. Also in case you want to work remotely from Italy beyond the three-month tourist visa, it is important to find the correct way to legally define your residence.
